Mother Nature rules the roostThis is how today started. Actually it started around 4am. Woke up to a howling wind and no electricity. My first thought is the new half built building. Will it withstand this gale? There was no way to sleep so we got up and check the weather outside. No rain but I saw the trees bent over and what I thought was very dense fog. Turned out the fog was dirt. It was so thick we could barely see the barn which is less than 50 feet from our house. And then it was over. Just Ike that. When the sun rose it hadn't rained much so Jay wanted to get the Beck's bean plot done before the next round of weather. We had eight varieties to plant and got done just in the nick of time. Checked around and the back wall of the lean-to was pushed out and a gate lost a chunk. The grove is a constant battle and we lost five big trees again. Inevitably one landed on the high tensile fence so we had to get that off to get the electric fence working again. Will have to clean up another day, too much other stuff to do. The building will need a good cleaning. Dirt is covering everything. But it was a gorgeous sunset. A sunset is best in person but I hope you saw it too.
